Team Stephen or Team Lebron?
On January 25, 2018, Stephen Curry of the Golden State Warriors and Lebron James of the Cleveland Cavaliers, drafted NBA players chosen by NBA fans for whom they want to see in the All-star game and selected them for their team as team captains. The game is to take place in Staples centre in Los Angeles on February 18, 2018.
Above we have, Lebron James, 3x NBA Champion, 4x MVP, 13x All-star, Drafted 1st in 2003 NBA draft by Cleveland.
Above is, Stephen Curry, 2x champion, 2x MVP and 4x All-star, Drafted 7th in 2009 draft by Golden State.
On Team Stephen, in the starting line up (apart from Steph himself), consists of:
Houston 5x All-star guard, James Harden
Toronto 3x All-star guard, Demar DeRozan
Milwaukee 2x All-star forward, Giannis Antetokounmpo
Philadelphia centre, Joel Embiid whom will be making his first All-star
Additionally, the players on the bench consist of:
Minnesota 3x All-star guard, Jimmy Butler
Boston 4x All-star centre, Al Horford
Portland 2x All-star guard, Damian Lillard
Toronto 3x All-star guard, Kyle Lowry
Golden State 3x All-star guard, Klay Thompson (who is one of Steph's teammate)
Golden State's 2x All-star forward, Draymond Green (also one of Steph's teammate)
Minnesota centre, Karl-Anthony Towns who is also making his first All-star game this year
On Team Lebron, in the starting lineup (apart from Lebron himself), will consist of:
Boston 4x All-star guard Kyrie Irving, Lebron's old team mate while he was playing in Cleveland (Drafted by Cleveland 1st in 2011),
Golden state 8x All-star forward Kevin Durant
New Orleans 4x All-star forward Anthony Davis
2x All-star centre, Andre Drummond
The final player who was supposed to be in the starting line up was New Orleans 3x All-star centre Demarcus Cousins. However, he got injured during the New Orleans-Houston matchup and will miss out the rest of the season; he will be replaced by Detroit.
On the bench, several young talents will attend the game. These young talents are;
New York Forward/Center Kristaps Porzingis
Washington guard Bradley Beal
Indiana guard Victor Oladipo
Miami guard Goran Dragic, whom will be replacing John Wall, who has been injured
Other All stars contending consist of; Oklahoma city 4x All-star forward Paul George whom will replace injured Kevin Love whom also has been injured, San Antonio 5x All-star forward LaMarcus Aldridge and Oklahoma city 6x All-star and last season MVP Russell Westbrook.
Now that the teams have been established. It is only a matter of time until we find out who will win the game in Los Angeles. Both teams consist of All-stars who have been in several games in the past and others who will be attending their first All-star game. However, another question that fans have been wondering is; will these two captains face each other in the finals again as for the past 3 NBA finals? Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors have fought against Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers, with Golden State winning 2 out of the three finals and Cleveland winning. In other words, this game could possibly give NBA fans a possible preview of what we could expect for a possible 4th rematch in the NBA finals.
