I want to be more involved in school activities, but I’m not sure where to start or what clubs to join. Any advice on how to find something I’ll enjoy?

Thank you for your question! You can start to be more involved in school activities in several ways. I'd start by asking around; you could ask your friends, teachers, and other students (I strongly suggest asking older students as they will have more experience with activities and clubs around school). I also recommend creating a list of your hobbies, things you are passionate about, and maybe even new activities you want to try, to narrow down your options. Then, I would try out different clubs. It's completely ok to quit after a couple of sessions if you don't like them (unless it's an ECA club, where you pay for the year!!). However, if it's something you know you're interested in, like basketball or robotics, we encourage you to go for it. Also, some of the bigger clubs, like Nations Voice, Anti-Discrimination, and 4U have multiple different jobs within them, meaning there are opportunities to find something you're interested in. Or, if you think of a club that doesn't exist at our school, go ahead and create it yourself! This shows to universities and others that you're someone who takes initiative.

Good luck!
