Boys Round of 16
(7/10/2025):
The 25/26 school year came with this season's “Coupe Romande”. The nation's Senior boys started their campaign at Stade Blanché in a “Derby du Lac” against the International School of Lausanne. On paper, all was to play for as the two teams' levels met at an equilibrium; however, the game played out against its assumed outcome. With Nations taking an early 2-0 lead, a slight loss in concentration led IIL to bring the score to 2-2. However, IIL's comeback flame was nothing short of a spontaneous run of luck as nations went on to score 4 more goals in the second half and extinguished any hopes of an upset. The newfound chemistry between Mohammed Salim and star striker Lorenzo is something the team will rely on for the upcoming quarter finals against a strong CDL side. Overall, the first game of the season has boosted the team's confidence in each other and set the stage for the upcoming international tournament in Brussels.
Boys Quarter-Finals
(30/10/2025):
Coming off the surprising landslide win against IIL, Nations' senior boys faced CDL in the “Coupe Romande” quarter finals, a team which showed immense skill in last year's end-of-school tournament and beat the Foxes 3-1.
With this at the back of the minds of all the players, the game became a battle of mental strength and intelligence. With the Nations keeper away, a strong reliance fell on the defensive line to keep as many shots as possible from being taken. With a far from best team, the team played with passion and confidence even after going down 2-1. The reliable striking force played their role once again, adding to the scoreline throughout the game. As the quantity of goals reached a seemingly all too familiar 6, the nations' players began to sit back and sit out the rest of the remaining time with another confident win under their feet. With a final score of 6-2, nations went off to celebrate the surprising landslide victory once again, as the team seemed to be growing forever stronger with every minute played in the orange kit. The hopes for success at the international tournament were through the roof… could the team live up to high expectations..?
